Chimney Crown Rebuild

The CHIMNEY CROWN sits atop the chimney, covering the flue liner to the edge, and is often referred to as the “chimney wash.” Over time, this mortar can crack, leading to water leaks into the chimney below.

USA Supreme advises using Portland-based cement for crown construction. When our technicians repair the crown, they apply Portland-based cement as an overlay on the existing chimney crown to prevent water leaks.

A DECORATIVE CHIMNEY CHASE COVER is a metal lid that fits over the top of the chimney chase, similar to a shoebox lid, and is also referred to as a “chase pan.” These covers are available in materials such as galvanized steel, aluminum, copper, and stainless steel.
